I arrived as Senior Pastor of St. Mark’s UMC in July and I am glad and honored to serve Jesus alongside the congregation and staff. I am married to Ann, also an ordained United Methodist Pastor who is currently on leave. We are parents of three children, Erin (Kaufman) King who is married to Tyler, Lauren, who is a recent graduate of Mississippi State, and Ryan, who attends Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. We also have our dog, Henry, who we adopted from Ann’s mother three years ago.
I love Jesus and the church and that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. The church, of course, is made of people who have decide to follow and grow in Christlikeness who are called to grow in love of God and neighbor and are led by Jesus to love our community through service which reveals God’s love for the world through the church. I believe all believers have gifts and are a key part in our mission to help people meet Jesus and grow in discipleship.
I earned a B.S. in Physics from the University of Southern Mississippi and then a Master of Divinity from the Divinity School of Duke University. I have served United Methodist Churches in 6 communities Including West Point, Meridian, McComb, Iuka, Ocean Springs and Long Beach over the last 28 years. I am grateful to now serve our community along with the good people of St. Mark’s UMC.
