I have taught 1st grade for 29 years. I started in Rankin County in 1997, at Flowood Elementary. I currently teach 1st grade at Highland Bluff Elementary. In 1999, several families, whose children I was teaching, invited me to visit St. Marks. We visited and knew this was where we wanted to raise our family. We joined St. Marks in 2000. Our church family has played an important role in my children’s lives.
I started volunteering in church nurseries when I was in college. Through the years, I have volunteered in the nursery and children’s ministry. I have found that the nursery gives me the greatest joy. My goal is to have happy babies who enjoy coming to church. This also allows their families to feel comfortable leaving their child while they attend worship.
