News Fatigue- St. Mark’s United Methodist Church- 8:20- 02-07-21

Notes:

Communion Sunday Service 2-07-21--

Today we have a constant barrage of the 24-hour news cycle. News piled on top of news and in 2020 it seems bad news was followed by worse news. All of this news can create what is known as news fatigue. Rev. Warren Coile proposes that this news barrage can result in anxiety and desensitization. Rev. Coile then offers a way of dealing with current news by putting current news in the context of an eternal perspective. Take a listen and see how he uses the scripture of Isiah 40:21-31 to explain just what he means by this statement.

Rev. Sandra Thomas leads the choir ensemble and congregation in hymns: "From All That Dwell", and "Come Let Us Join Our Friends Above", Rev. Thomas directs the choir ensemble in the anthem, "All We Gather."

Robin Sessums provides cello accompaniment during the Communion Service.

@E11th_Hour "Devote yourself to Jesus, His Word, and prayer at Saint Mark's (Acts 6:4)."
