Something to Think About- St Marks United Methodist Church

Notes:

What does it mean to be transformed? In this Advent Season is it the ecstasy we feel? Rev. Coile puts himself in the middle of the Church in Corinth and reveals God's gift and Jesus's gift to believers which is greater than any seasonal ecstasy. He uses Paul's letter in the Epistle, 1 Corinthians 1:3-9, to build our understanding of transformation. Rev. Sandra Thomas opens this First Sunday in Advent service and leads the choir ensemble and congregation in praise: '"Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates," "O Day of God, Draw Nigh," and the closing hymn "Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus." Rev. Thomas also directs the choir ensemble in the anthem, "Carol of the Advent" while Ben Curry accompanies on saxophone. Ben also plays a sax rendition of "In the Bleak Midwinter" along with Darlene Baker on the Grand Piano.

@E11th_Hour "Devote yourself to Jesus, His Word, and prayer at Saint Mark's (Acts 6:4)."
