Asleep at the Wheel- St Marks United Methodist Church, 8:20_11_15_2020

Notes:

Asleep at the wheel can be a very dangerous and sobering state to find one's self. Rev. Coile applies this phrase to Christians that find themselves in a similar situation in their service to God. Rev. Coile cites Paul's letter to the church at Thessalonica in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11.Paul urges the church to continue the good works they are performing and in Rev. Coile's words not "fall asleep at the wheel." Rev. Sandra Thomas opens this 24th Sunday after Pentecost service and leads the choir ensemble and congregation in hymns and anthems of: "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, "Soldiers of Christ Arise," and "Awake O Sleeper," Special music of "Will the Light Be Shining Bright" is performed by Keri Davis, David Hinton, and Jeff Reynolds. Jeff Reynolds accompanies on guitar, Ben Thomas on hand drum, and Jason Boyd on electronic keyboard, Darlene Baker performs the service prelude music and plays the grand piano for the Anthem, "Soon and Very Soon" sung by the choir ensemble.

@E11th_Hour "Devote yourself to Jesus, His Word, and prayer at Saint Mark's (Acts 6:4)."
